Cultural Literacy

In cultural literacy students study history and literature to understand the foundation of the modern world and to develop the analytical and communication skills necessary for career success and active citizenship. Cultural Literacy I focuses on the roots of the modern world through a study of ancient, medieval and early modern history and literature.  Cultural Literacy II examines how  American democracy developed in the years before the Civil War. Cultural Literacy III  focuses on American history and  literature from 1865 to the present.  In Cultural Literacy IV students study postcolonial world history and literature.
