Our chaplain offers mass once a month and we hold daily prayer during “community time," a 15-minute break in classes complimented with a snack. Our diverse student body also shares their Christian beliefs during an ecumenical prayer service, held once a month, that infuses gospel, spoken word poetry, and guitar/piano performances by students. A saint of the month highlight is developed and communicated to students through our Bible club.
Theology courses are a requirement each year at Nazareth Prep, with the senior year theology class focused on designing and launching a service learning project. Theology electives focused on ethics and world religion are also available to upperclassmen. We follow the catechetical guidelines provided by the Diocese of Pittsburgh even as an independent Catholic High School. The values of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth are also introduced into our theology classes at each grade level.
