Visual & Performing Arts

Visual and Performing Arts are infused into many of our core classes, and offered as electives. Art electives are offered on-campus, and at the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild, giving our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) focused Academy a rich foundation in the arts. Nazareth Prep requires Music I as a 9th grade course, and offers band and music technology electives. Guests from the Pittsburgh Symphony, as well as local churches, frequently support our music program. Students are encouraged to take band and select instruments of their choice, such as guitar, drums, or wind instruments. Performance opportunities exist through the winter and spring music festival, the drama club, and participation in the August Wilson Monologue competition. Electives provide the chance to learn skills such as digital media and screenplay writing.
