At Nazareth College and Career Prep, technology is a key piece of our innovative approach to teaching and learning. The school is completely digital, with almost all course materials, assignments, and resources offered online.
From their freshman year through senior year, students work on building their e-portfolio, which showcases their work both inside and outside of the classroom. To enable their project based development, all students at Nazareth College and Career Prep are provided with a Google Chromebook to access content and lecture-based materials.
For project work, our library is stocked with state-of-the-art iMacs with Garageband, iMovie, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Coming soon is a recording studio for students to create beats, express their learning through the recording arts, and produce original music through our music technology electives.
Students and parents can access assignments and course materials through Canvas, our Learning Management System. Families create their own individual Canvas accounts to access grades and assignments as well as course materials and resources. Canvas also holds each student’s e-portfolio, which is a personal showcase of their completed work over the course of the school year. We encourage parents to check Canvas as teachers update it several times a week. Canvas is also accessible through a Mobile App for students and families on the go. Attendance and final grades are tracked through the PowerSchool portal.
Nazareth College and Career Prep is also an official Google Apps for Education school, where students can use an online word processing package and a variety of other tools.
