Broadcast Journalism at NCCP!

Wednesday, January 11, 2017

Once a week, students at all grade levels participate in courses hosted onsite at one of our educational partners.

These organizations provide industry-informed learning opportunities for students, engaging them in leading edge design,

technology, and research.

This past week, 11th grade students from Nazareth College and Career Prep were asked to appear as hosts on the Saturday Light

Brigade's Radio Production show,"Youth Express," for their Broadcast Journalism class. The Saturday Light Brigade is

a  broadcast studio and training complex in the expanded Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. Youth Express is a constant

streaming Internet radio show which features original writing, music, theater, journalism and reflections

from Pittsburgh-area youth and schools that is produced from The Saturday Light Brigade.

During their show, the students discussed topics such as, "What are you thankful for," and "Disney or Nickelodeon."
