Today’s Career Capture featured John Simpson, Events Marketing Manager at the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he talked to students about his pathway that
led him into the world of sports event management and marketing.
John Simpson became the Events Marketing Manager at the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1998 and has recently completed his 18th season with the team. A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, John Simpson has many responsibilities when it comes to working with the Steelers Organization including corporate sales, heading the marketing internship program and sponsorship hospitality. He is also largely involved in the marketing aspect of the Steelers Training Camp that takes place every summer. Prior to the Steelers, John Simpson work with Dick’s Sporting Goods, Champ’s Sports, and Koenig Sporting Goods.
The "Career Capture" series started last year when Nazareth College and Career Prep invited guest speakers from different businesses to share their story with students about their career choice, the pathway that it took to get there, and the skills needed to be successful in their field.
