The final trimester of 2018 at Nazareth College and Career Prep started off with a bang for the junior class.
This year, the project based assignment for the class focuses on energy. The students were tasked with exploring different forms of energy and applying their newly acquired knowledge to solve an energy based problem. For example, a student might research the cost vs benefit of solar panels. If the cons outweigh the pros, the student will provide a real world solution to the issue. The goal of the project is to build awareness of energy use and consumption while giving the students the opportunity to develop their critical thinking skills.
The trimester three project is part of the unique learning experience of Nazareth College and Career Prep. The projected is guided by the STEM and Cultural Literacy departments, giving the students a cross curricular experience.
"Our department is thrilled to partner with the STEM department for this exciting learning experience" said Cultural Literacy teacher Lizzie Morgan. "The students are hard at work and I can't wait to see the final result."
