Dr. Lisa Abel-Palmieri, Head of School/CLO, was named one of twenty people "Shaping a Future Generation in Pittsburgh" by The Incline this past July. According to the Incline, "...we honor 20 individuals who are making a mark on education in Pittsburgh. Some work behind the scenes. Some lead schools or classrooms or cutting edge initiatives. Others coach or work with immigrant students or to prevent violence among youth or to make education more inclusive. All are shaping education here and, in the process, a future generation."
In August she was recognized by Pittsburgh Magazine and PUMP as one of 40 Under 40. According to Pittsburgh Magazine, "Pittsburgh has always been characterized as a town full of hardworking people. People who make things with their hands. People who see something broken and fix it. Inventors, innovators, philanthropists, givers. People who simply get stuff done. That is certainly true of those honored in 40 Under 40 list. These outstanding young Pittsburghers have built a satisfying career, or found meaningful volunteer work, or started a business, or saw a need and launched a nonprofit. They might not have it all figured out, but they have something figured out, and that’s worthy of recognition." See other members of the cohort here.
