Nazareth Prep students Riyan and Baubi are reaping the benefits of the Investing Now program, which is run by The University of Pittsburgh.
The program is celebrating its 30th year as a college preparatory program that recognizes and supports high academic performance from secondary students that are historically unrepresented in STEM careers. The purpose of the program is to prepare students for post-secondary STEM classes and careers.
Roughly 175 students participate in the program every year.
Riyan and Baubi have worked with Pitt students to fill cavities on molds, learn about ethics in the workplace, coding and robotics. Also, any student in the program who has a C in their high school is elgible for free tutoring from a Pitt student.
"It's nice to surround yourself with people who are invested in your success" said Baubi. "I'm really happy to be in the program."
