Students of all faiths are welcome at Nazareth College and Career Prep. The religious formation program will prepare all students to experience the presence of God and to celebrate, pray and witness on a regular basis.
We have created a community of caring aligned with the Seven Key Themes of Catholic Social Teaching:
- Life and dignity of the human person
- Call to family, community, and participation
- Rights and responsibilities
- Preferential option for the poor and vulnerable
- Dignity of work and the rights of workers
- Care for God’s creation
A Message from the NCCP Board President:
The basic values, beliefs, and principles that guide Nazareth College and Career Prep are grounded in the Catholic tradition and in the principles and values, and policies of Holy Family Institute, our affiliated organization. At Nazareth College and Career Prep we make some basic assumptions that underlie everything else that we think and do. The most basic assumption that we make is that life is valuable, even those with whom we differ and don’t understand. We view life as coming from God and as a “whole” and that as we come to understand and respect life in all of its forms is sacred work. We affirm the dignity of each person and the oneness of the human family. Therefore respect and nonviolence for life in all of its forms is fundamental to our way of living.
We provide education in the tradition of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth and promote their charism which is to spread the Kingdom of God’s love by creating a family-friendly environment through faithful listening, discovering God in in everyday life events, and in developing loving relationships. We invite administrators, teachers, staff, students and families to be innovative co-creators in establishing this learning environment and to be an integral part of the Holy Family community.
We are committed to promoting academic excellence and Christian morals and values, and to demonstrating, through our students’ personal engagement in service projects, God’s love and care for the poor and others in need. Our service projects are based on social justice and Catholic social teachings. Our students are called to be change agents by making the world a better place.
